SR 15 is a very light coloured, low viscosity oil useful for machining all non-ferrous metals (except titanium) where a non-staining behaviour is required. Good heat transfer properties cool the tool and work piece effectively under the high speed conditions at which aluminium, magnesium, zinc and their alloys are machined; SR 15 is particularly suitable as a honing oil. SR 16 and 18 have higher viscosity than SR 15, with superior metal wettability and better cooling under increased operational severity. SR 18 is the most heavily compounded oil and meets IS 3065-1985 Type I, Grade II (reaffirmed 1990).

DIN 51506Formulated with selected base stocks and a special compounding agent to give excellent resistance to the washing effect of water, further fortified with anti-rust and anti-corrosion agents, with good fluidity at low temperature. Recommended for cylinder lubrication of single and multistage air compressors with moist air, providing excellent lubrication of piston rings, valves and cylinder liners.
Temporary corrosion protection for storage and transportation — oil film, greasy film and solvent cut-back types.
Storage & Transit ProtectionLubricating oils containing soluble corrosion inhibitors, generally applied by dipping, spraying or circulating. They serve as lubricants as well as temporary protectives and are suitable for internal protection of gear boxes, back axle assemblies, oil and fuel pumps and lines, fuel and oil tanks, IC engines and similar. Rust S is the most suitable grade for protection of cold rolled steel components, with very good coverage and best suited to humid and saline atmospheres.

Mobile liquids consisting of film forming ingredients, rust inhibitors and water displacing additives in solvent; on evaporation of the solvent a thin, soft film is obtained. Rust 173 and 274 contain water-displacing additives, so all traces of moisture on the component surface are displaced by the protective film. Rust 184 and 173 are used on a wide range of single items and on interior surfaces where elaborate protection is unnecessary, and in certain cases for interim protection of assemblies — because solvent evaporation is required, they should not be used where small-orificed cavities occur.
Rust 274 is a premium rust preventive specially designed as a protective for all types of bearings, protecting components for extended duration. It is also used as a sealant for phosphatized components and can serve both inter-process treatment and final packing of precision parts; for final application it is used as such, while it can be diluted with mineral turpentine to cut costs for inter-process treatment. Applied by spray or cold dip.
Rust 276 is a superior quality rust preventive blended with solvent refined base oil and special additives for extended protection periods, offering better water displacement and protecting metal surfaces in severe salty and humid atmospheres. Recommended for final packaging of finished components and equally suitable for inter-process waiting periods; applied by spray, swab or cold dip.

Inhibited with special additives to ensure protection against rusting. The oil forms an oily film over the work piece when applied by dipping or spraying, and can be removed easily with petroleum solvent, by alkaline cleaning or by vapour degreasing. Used for indoor storage during in-between operations and short-term storage before wrapping; also for short-term outdoor storage and protection of black sheets during storage and transportation in steel plants. Both are recommended for internal protection of engines and machinery where removal of the oil film is difficult — the film formed is compatible with lubricating oils.

Straight mineral base general purpose lubricating oils for non-critical and once-through applications.
Mould 50 · Mould 150Blended from straight mineral base stocks and available in different viscosity grades. These oils can also be used as a fluid sealing medium for gas holders where the gas is non-reacting with mineral oil, and as filter media in oil bath type air cleaners. Lower viscosity mill oil can be used to clean internal surfaces of equipment and accessories, and these grades are also used for lubrication in textile and jute mills.

Paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic process oils for use as plasticizers in rubber compounding.
P · N · A SeriesRubber process oils are broadly classified into three basic groups depending on the physical arrangement of the carbon atoms — paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic. All petroleum oils are mixtures of various hydrocarbon groups and their classification is based on the predominance of a particular group. SR Rubber Oil 165, 205 and 255 are predominantly paraffinic process oils suitable for use as plasticizers; 165 and 255 are highly paraffinic.

While lubricating oils are best suited for the lubrication of any machine element, their use is not feasible where the product is likely to leak out and not remain in the bearing over extended periods of service. For such situations, solid to semi-solid dispersions of thickening agents in liquid lubricants — greases — are used. SR greases are the outcome of many years of technical and scientific experience: the petroleum lubricating oils used in their manufacture are carefully selected to give excellent lubricating characteristics, and modern equipment, scientifically developed formulae, careful supervision and accurate controls ensure a complete range of greases of proven quality for modern industrial machines.
